QUARTERLY ESTIMATES
- For the December quarter 2011, there were 74 disputes, 8 more than in the September quarter 2011.
- The number of employees involved in industrial disputes in the December quarter 2011 was 51,600, a decrease from 66,400 in the September quarter 2011.
- There were 54,300 working days lost due to industrial disputation in the December quarter 2011, a decrease from 101,300 in the September quarter 2011.
- The combined Education and training and Health care and social assistance industries accounted for 16,600 (31%) of the total number of working days lost in the December quarter 2011.
- In the December quarter 2011, Queensland accounted for 22,100 (41%) of working days lost. Queensland also had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (10.6) for the quarter.
YEAR ENDED ESTIMATES
- During the year ended December 2011, there were 192 disputes, 29 fewer than in the year ended December 2010.
- During the year ended December 2011, there were 241,500 working days lost compared with 126,600 in the year ended December 2010.
